A major milestone has been reached in the AstroBone project: the biological samples from the ISS have safely returned to Earth and have now arrived at the University of Genoa, where the next phase of the project is underway.
Following the recovery of the bioreactors, Kayser Space has completed the removal of the electronic and hardware components, while the biological samples are now being processed by the University of Genoa for the planned molecular analyses.

Over the coming months, the results will provide valuable insights into the osteoinductive properties of b.Bone and how human bone cells respond to the material under microgravity conditions. These findings could contribute to a better understanding of bone regeneration in osteoporotic environments and, ultimately, support the development of improved solutions for patients affected by osteoporosis.
