Load Bearing Bone regeneration: Mechanical Behavior Matters.

This work focused on how architecture, chemistry, and processing govern the mechanical response of biomorphic calcium‑phosphate bone grafts. By preserving a hierarchically organized, wood‑derived architecture and avoiding conventional sintering routes, the resulting scaffolds achieved mechanical competence superior to traditional sintered calcium phosphates, while maintaining high, interconnected porosity.

The study highlighted a key principle:
mechanical performance in bone grafts can be engineered through structure and chemistry—without sacrificing porosity.

A foundational step toward rethinking bone substitutes not just as fillers, but as mechanically reliable, structurally informed systems.
